Gauge Lockhart

Delta High School senior Gauge Lockhart is flanked by his mother Charity and father Damon at his recent letter of intent signing to Brown University to play baseball and study business entrepreneurship and organizations.

Delta High School senior Gauge Lockhart has, like his sister did two years ago, signed a letter of intent to become an Ivy Leaguer at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Lockhart made the decision to attend Brown because of the unlimited opportunities it can provide students with later in life.

“The baseball team at Brown is a family that is overwhelmingly accepting and encouraging,” Lockhart said. “I could not be more excited.”

One of the most influencing people helping Lockhart make his decision to attend Brown was his older sister, Lily, a student/athlete at Dartmouth University in Hanover, New Hampshire. With the distance between the two schools not much more than 45 minutes, the two siblings will undoubtedly be seeing each other more often than making trips back to Colorado.

Lockhart gives his sister most of the credit for his attending college because, “her setting the bar high really made me push myself throughout the years.”
