After 18 quarters of shutout football this season, Delta High School’s Panthers gave up 14 points to Aspen High School in the Oct. 4, Class 2A WSLs contest against the Skiers in Aspen. Delta enjoyed a 21-0 halftime lead against Aspen but allowed a touchdown in the third quarter, ending a four-game shutout streak. A touchdown and 2-point conversion in the fourth quarter pushed Delta’s points-against number to 14 for the 2019 season.

The Panthers controlled the game with their stingy defense and a productive offense that scored under 40 points for the first time this season.

Bynum’s top target was senior Hunter Hughes who finished the game with 84 yards on four receptions and one touchdown. Senior Nate Workman continued his high performance numbers with 57 yards on three receptions while senior Skylar Kraai grabbed two Bynum aerials for 53 yards and a touchdown. Senior Gauge Lockhart had one reception for 41 yards and Ku Moo picked up five yards on a single catch.

One of Delta’s four touchdowns came on a Butler fumble recovery.
