Shopping library book sales is a great way to find good deals on books and other materials, while supporting the local libraries. Library friends groups across the county are gearing up for their huge spring book sales.

Friends of the Cedaredge Library host their annual spring book sale at the Stolte Shed on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers will find great prices on romance, fiction, mystery, western, children's, teens, sci-fi, and fantasy books.

The same weekend in Paonia, Friends of the Paonia Library host their annual sale on Friday, April 20, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers at Paonia Library will find many new selections, as well as a half price table for westerns, romance novels, and old hardbacks.

Later in May, Hotchkiss Library Friends host their annual sale at Memorial Hall during the Sheep Dog Trials on Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Their sale features rock bottom prices on all genres of books, movies, music, and other materials during the two-day event.

The proceeds from each sale directly support the hosting library. Along with a good turnout of shoppers, each friends group needs volunteers to make the sales a success.

Please contact your local library for more information or to volunteer. Visit www.delta libraries.org for a complete calendar of events.
