Lifetime Delta County resident Steven Thomas Anderson died from ALS Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at his home in Lazear. He was 48.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, at Delta First Assembly of God, 762 Dodge Street, with Rev. Jason Neely, Rowdy Shiflet and Phillip Jerry Hogan officiating. Dinner will follow in the church gym.
Mr. Anderson was born in Austin Aug. 6, 1967, to John and Pamela Anderson. He spent his childhood in Austin and graduated from Delta High School in 1986.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 1992 aboard the USS Emory S. Land during the Persian Gulf War.
Mr. Anderson was a member of several organizations including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Colorado Bow Hunters Association. He enjoyed softball, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and spending quality time with family and friends.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his mother, Pamela Anderson; two brothers, Bryan (Melody) Anderson of Cedaredge and Robert Anderson of Austin; one sister, Pam Anderson of Austin; and nieces and nephews, Johnathan, Kaleigh, Brayden and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Anderson.
