Intern: Bradley Davis, Delta High School
Sponsor: Jeremy McCormick, DHS Athletic Department
This internship has given Bradley a narrower glimpse of an industry that he has been considering going into, sports management, and has allowed him to gain knowledge and experience he did not have before. He worked under his school's athletic director, Jeremy McCormick. A few of the tasks entrusted to him have been improving and managing music for sporting events, giving input for athletic scheduling for next year, creating spreadsheets, and creating posters for the upcoming school year. Bradley also gained life and business skills through this experience. This process has improved his ability to finish projects with deadlines, prioritize projects, ask questions and work in tandem with other people. In the fall Bradley will be attending CU Denver, majoring in sports management.

Intern: Jennifer McDonald, Hotchkiss High School
Sponsor: Rae Sanchez, West Elk Clinic
At the new West Elk Clinic in Hotchkiss, Jenny was able to follow all the different people within the clinic and take on different positions. She went from helping out the front desk to shadowing the clinic manager, following the NPs and MAs around, and eventually was able to follow a physician and acupuncturist in the clinic. Jenny was even able to assist in freezing off possible carcinoma cells on a patient's head, looking in a patient's ear, and feeling knots in a patient's neck before needles were applied. Jenny is thankful for her experience at the clinic and couldn't have asked for more welcoming people to work with. This opportunity has made it clear to Jenny that a career in the field of medicine is right for her. Jenny will be attending Weber State University in the fall to study radiology.
