For the second year in a row, Cedaredge High School students have created a story for the Surface Creek Trail StoryWalk ®. The original work was written and illustrated by a team of five students from the CES gifted and talented program. The book, entitled "Cleo's Christmas Party," is mounted in segments along the urban trail that follows the creek from S.E. Independence Avenue to S.E Deer Trail Avenue. Last Friday morning, the student-authors teamed up with high school classmates to welcome Cedaredge Elementary School kindergarten students to the trail. Guided by older students and adults, clusters of children moved from one set of pages to the next, reading the book as they walked. Teachers and staff from the high school and elementary schools joined the walk along with parent volunteers. The walk was followed by hot chocolate and cookies served at the high school.
