Financial exploitation of older adults is a form of abuse that is both widespread and fast-growing. It is expensive; for the elder, for the community and for the state as victims turn to Medicaid as a result of the theft.
A Little Help is turning the spotlight on this damaging form of abuse in our "Tough Talk" this month. Speakers from Adult Protective Services and the Delta County Sheriff's Office and an elder law attorney will discuss the forms, incidence and consequences of financial exploitation as well as providing information on how to protecting yourself and your loved ones.
