On May 1, the Cedaredge board of trustees met for a special meeting to appropriate an additional $35,000 from reserves as a loan to the golf course fund.

These funds will be used to purchased a used turf utility vehicle, a spray rig, and to make improvements to the kitchen and dining area of the restaurant. The vehicle will aid the golf course in its aggressive recovery program after last year's drought.

Sales tax from the restaurant and shop will help with repayment.

Currently a portion of sales tax goes to general fund but Mayor Pro-tem Ray Hanson suggested instead using a portion of sales tax to go back to the restaurant and shop, and to use the golf carts sales tax to benefit the golf course fund. The golf course plans to repay the loan from revenues as quickly as possible, with 2.58 percent annual interest.

For the restaurant, patio furniture is needed and the ice machine needs to be replaced, in addition to small repairs.
