Sheriff Mark Taylor presented to Delta County Commissioners Don Suppes, Mark Roeber and Mike Lane the cooperative law enforcement agreement between the Delta County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Forest Service at the commissioners' Feb. 19 meeting.

The annual cooperative agreement documents a cooperative effort between the U.S. Forest Service and the sheriff's office to enhance state and local law enforcement in connection with activities on Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, and to provide for reimbursement to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office provides uniformed officers with marked vehicles to perform these activities and ensure the officers meet the standards of training.

The commissioners signed the agreement.
