Hawk-eyed volunteers are invited to count birds during the annual Audubon Christmas bird count Dec. 16 through Jan. 5.
The annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count is scheduled for the Montrose area Sunday, Dec. 16. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the old city council chambers meeting room in Centennial Plaza. The bird count continues until the circle is done or until dusk. All data needs to be turned into the leader by the end of the day.
In the Delta area, the Christmas Bird Count takes place Sunday, Dec. 23. Participants are asked to meet at 8:30 a.m. in the Delta City Market parking lot. Maps and directions will be provided; bring lunch and water. Plan to spend the majority of the day birding. All skill levels are welcomed; please bring your own binoculars.
