The North Fork Ambulance Association fully supports a property tax increase to adequately fund the Delta County Ambulance District. We strongly encourage the residents of Delta, Cedaredge and Orchard City to pass this ballot measure for the safety and well-being of their community.
Accidents do happen. Accidents happen in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day and night. An immediate response by professionally trained staff often makes a life-saving difference.
The revenue from billing Medicare and Medicaid is not keeping up with the cost of medical equipment and training. Unlike a retail store which can close when business is slow, ambulance services must remain completely open 24 hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year!
The Delta County Ambulance District has done an admirable job of reducing expenses in recent years. Further reductions are likely to increase response times and may reduce the quality of emergency care.
On Nov. 8, vote yes on Ballot Measure 5A to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the entire community!
