Delta senior Missa Webb will attend Western Colorado University in Gunnison in the fall of 2019 with a scholarship in hand to play soccer for the Mountaineers.
Webb will pursue a degree in communications with a minor in journalism.
The choice of Western Colorado was an easy one for Webb. "I chose this school because of many reasons. The views are absolutely beautiful and there are so many outdoor activities to partake in. The school offers a wonderful communications program with an English program that I am excited to be a part of. Also, the soccer department was very welcoming to me and I felt at home. The coach is very experienced as well. I enjoy the small town aspect of Gunnison as well as the proximity to home."
One of the most influencing aspects of choosing Western Colorado was the soccer team. "They influenced me the most to make my decision. On my visit, they instantly made me feel like I was a part of the team." Western's coach was another positive for Webb. "The coach was also a big influence. I agree with her coaching style and really think that she is a great coach." Webb also agreed her parents and sisters had an influence in her decision.
Webb played in 14 games for the Panthers in 2018 and led her team with 24 goals and two assists. She scored 50 points for Delta in 2018 and netted 14 shots in 2017 to lead the team with 31 points on the season.
Webb's parents are Willyn and Jim Webb.
