Storytimes. Storytimes for babies, tots and preschoolers are Thursdays starting at 10:30 a.m. Contact the library at 399-7674 for details.

Computer Basics Class. Learn the basics of the computer in this hands-on class that is geared directly to your skill level. Open to all, limited to 10. Friday, Dec. 23, at 10:30 a.m.

Teen Scene. Teens are invited to the Cedaredge Library every Friday at 4 p.m. for fun, creative activities. Teen holiday party will be Friday, Dec. 23.

December Maker Space. Bath Fizzy! Come to the Cedaredge Library during library hours in December and make your own relaxing bath fizz to take home! All supplies provided, one per person.

Crafts Group. Crafters meet each Tuesday at 10 a.m. to share ideas and show and tell. Contact the library at 399-7674 for details.

Tech Soup Saturday. Bring your devices and your questions. Our expert "techies" will do their best to answer your questions. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Alpine Village Haiku Contest. The Crawford Library will run an Alpine Village-inspired Haiku Contest from Dec. 1-Dec. 31. View the village in person or online. Submissions can be delivered to the Crawford Library in person, by mail, or through the Delta County Libraries website at http://www.deltalibraries.org/holiday-village/. Entries will be judged by a panel of professional writers and awards will be given in each age category.

Holiday Card Making. Make cards for family or friends using the supplies we provide: decorative papers, stamps and inks, punches, fancy scissors, brads, ribbons, stickers and more! A Cricut decorative cutting machine will be available for creating holiday shapes and letters. Dec. 14-17 during library hours.

Gingerbread Houses. Make your own gingerbread house or cabin with material we supply. Design your masterpiece and take it home to display for the holidays. Saturday, Dec. 17, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Computer Tutor. Librarians will be available to help you with questions and problems about computers or mobile devices. Just drop in during regular library hours or call ahead for a specific time. Contact the library at 399-7783 for details.

Holiday Reading Challenge. Children will be given a list of age-appropriate books to read. When the checklist is completed, the child will receive a certificate for a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut and be entered into a drawing for a free book from the Emblem Club. Nov. 19-Jan. 14.

Delta Book Club. This month we will be discussing "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusack. Saturday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m.

Teen Craft Station. A craft station will be set up in the teen area Dec. 19-22 during library hours. Materials for simple gifts and cards will be available.

Grinchmas Party. Games, crafts, snacks and movie all related to "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m.

Kids' Craft Day. Stop by the Delta Library between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. every third Saturday and get crafty. December's theme: Christmas.

Free Heart Health Screenings. There will be no screenings in December.

Magic the Gathering. Teens can come to the library to play and trade cards for Magic the Gathering! Tournaments every first Saturday at 10 a.m.

Talk & Tangle Yarn. This is a group of knit and crochet enthusiasts who get together to talk and work on their individual projects. Anyone is welcome to join. Mondays starting at 5:30 p.m.

Hotchkiss Book Club. This book club meets the third Thursday of every month at 3 p.m. in the Addams Room of Memorial Hall and is for adults. December's discussion is on "Teacher Man: A Memoir" by Frank McCourt.

Hotchkiss Book Store. Visit the Hotchkiss Library Friends Book Store Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and find some great deals on books, movies and other materials. All proceeds benefit the Hotchkiss Library.

Are you a Friend of the Hotchkiss Library? Sign up today! No dues, no regular meetings. Help with book sorting and sales. All proceeds go directly to the Hotchkiss Library. Stop by or call the library at 399-7781 to join.

Holiday Ornament Making. Come to the library during the month of December and create your own unique ornament to take home with you to enjoy! We'll provide the supplies.

Master Builder Club. Explore your creativity as a master builder with Legos. Join us for a monthly design themes and free building time. All ages welcome; children under 7 should bring an adult. Meets the first Tuesday of every month October through April from 3:45 to 5 p.m.

Knit Crochet Day. Take time out to knit or crochet and share project ideas. Bring some unwanted yarns for a yarn swap. Always free yarn and craft magazines. Tea and cookies too! Saturday, Dec. 17, at noon.

Holiday Movie. Come on over to the Paonia Library for the 1940s holiday movie about the shop around the corner! Saturday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m.

Family Movie. Paonia Library will show the new movie about the biggest, friendliest, giant around on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m.


Distance Learning Program. Do you need your high school equivalency but are unable to attend our classes? Delta County Libraries now has a distance learning program that offers participants the ability to work from home with an online program to prepare for the test. High School Equi-valency Classes. Hotch-kiss location meets at 397 Bulldog Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Call Julee at 970-201-8561 for information. Delta location meets at 360 E. 8th Street Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Call Beth at 970-209-9643 for information.
