Zora Magdalene "Madge/Maggie" Burson Marksberry died Jan. 26, 2018, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. She was 91.
She was born near Vici, Okla., on May 1, 1927, to William and Lula Mae (Michael) Burson. She spent her childhood in Oklahoma, California and Colorado, graduating from Delta High School in 1945.
On July 3, 1949, she married Ralph Marksberry. They lived in Delta before moving to Moab, Utah, where she worked for many years at Miller's Supermarket, Foodtown and Maverik. After Mr. Marksberry's death, she moved to Norwood for a short time and then back to Delta, where she spent her final years.
Mrs. Marksberry enjoyed going for drives, having coffee with friends, sitting in the sun and smelling the flowers in her niece's garden.
She is survived by her children, Denice Hoffman and Mark Marksberry; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Marksberry; and eight siblings, Delbert, Hazel, Elizabeth, Homer, James, Leroy and Leon Burson, and Juanita Burson Boyd.
At her request, no services are planned. Taylor Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the burial arrangements.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
